Voice Consent & Abuse Policy
Effective September 2026 · applies to every voice cloned on Era Voice.
This policy forms part of the Terms of Service and the Acceptable Use Policy; how consent records are stored is described in the Privacy Policy.
Consent is required, always
You may only clone a voice you have the right to use: your own, or one whose speaker gave you their explicit permission. Every voice creation requires a typed attestation — “I confirm I have the right to clone this voice and consent to its use.” — which we store together with a timestamp and the request's IP address as a consent record.
Prohibited
- Cloning a third party's voice without their documented consent.
- Cloning celebrities, politicians, or other public figures without documented rights and the required speaker consent; parody intent does not replace those permissions.
- Impersonation, fraud, harassment, or misleading synthetic media of any kind.
- Bypassing or automating around the consent attestation.
Violations lead to voice deletion and account suspension.
Marketplace listings
Publishing a voice to the marketplace repeats the rights attestation for redistribution and states a rights basis. Nothing is public until that basis is established:
- Own voice — live verification. You read a random sentence plus a one-time code in the browser; the recording is compared with the voice you are publishing and the similarity score, verdict, timestamp, and IP address are stored. A passed check is valid for 24 hours and the listing goes public immediately. A failed check publishes nothing.
- Documented rights — human review. You name the speaker and the licence you hold. The listing stays private until an Era Voice admin approves it; rejected listings are unlisted with a note to the publisher.
We can suspend or remove any listing at any time. For a confirmed consent or rights violation, we may also revoke copies and affected access inside the Service. Ordinary unlisting only stops new copies. Voices copied from the marketplace and preset library voices cannot be re-listed.
Report abuse
Every marketplace listing has a Report abuse link: pick a reason (impersonation, copyright, harassment, other), describe the problem, and optionally leave an email for follow-up. Reports reach our support team at once, and a listing with three open reports from different networks is hidden automatically until we have reviewed it.
If you believe your voice was cloned without your consent outside the marketplace, or you have seen Era Voice audio used for impersonation or fraud, email era-support@erasmuslabs.ai. Include any links or audio you have; we investigate every report and remove offending voices.
Your right to delete
Deleting a voice removes its active sample and embedding. Prior generated audio and text may remain in History, Studio, or other independent copies until those are deleted; backups follow the retention policy. Speakers can request removal and investigation of unauthorised copies through the abuse contact above. We cannot recall downloads outside the Service.
